Cello Studio of Catherine Mikelson
Catherine is a dedicated cello instructor who maintains private studios in the Marriottsville, Sykesville and Eldersburg areas. She works with students who are invested in the rewarding experience of learning an instrument. To learn more, click HERE.
Catherine Mikelson is an active teacher and performer in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas. She is a member of the Annapolis Symphony and is regularly engaged by the National Philharmonic and the Olney Theatre where her tone was described by the Washington Post as "glowing."
Catherine holds a Master of Music from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Music from the Peabody Conservatory which she earned under the guidance of National Symphony Orchestra Principal Cellist, David Hardy. Her other principal teachers have included James Lee and Anne Martindale Williams.
Catherine is a dedicated teacher, using both Suzuki and traditional methods. She maintains an active private studio in Marriottsville and was formerly on faculty with the Levine School of Music.
Catherine is a registered teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She has trained in Suzuki Books 1-7 and Revisiting Book 1 and is committed to her own long-term learning and development as a teacher and cellist.
