Catherine Mikelson is an in-demand cellist in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas.  She is member of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and regularly appears with many ensembles throughout the year.

A dedicated theater musician, Catherine performs at the Olney Theatre Center where her tone was described by the Washington Post as "glowing."  She has appeared in shows at Center Stage, GALA Hispanic Theatre, Studio Theatre and Roundhouse Theatre.

Catherine is a community musician with the Iris Music Project - a non-profit in Creative Aging.  This job goes beyond just playing.  Catherine loves getting to know older adults through music, to learn and collaborate with them, and to further the sense of joy and purpose in their lives.

Catherine earned a Master of Music from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Music from the Peabody Conservatory under the guidance of National Symphony Orchestra Principal Cellist, David Hardy.
